India travel section. John has managed and operated his own successful Photography business since 1985 and has been registered in Victoria since 1987. Predominantly involved in wedding/portrait and travel photography, other fields include
photojournalism, architecture and sport photography. He photographed the first seven Australian Tennis Opens from courtside at Flinders Park (Melbourne Park). John has had photos published in both local newspapers and international publications in Asia and Europe. Over the last 16 years his photos on various sporting and human interest/political stories within
Australia have been regularly published in the "Algemeen Dagblad" which is Holland's
biggest selling daily
broadsheet newspaper.
John has also designed and taught community based introductory photography courses and has won numerous awards for his travel and wedding photos, including the prestigious Melbourne Camera Club Bicentennial Photo
Journalist Print of the year. He has held a number of Photographic exhibitions, including a very successful and critically acclaimed exhibition at the Convent Gallery in Daylesford.
John’s education includes:
• An undergraduate degree in Social Science, a Counselling diploma, a Graduate Diploma of Business and a Certificate in Services
Marketing;
• Other training includes; computer training and numerous short photography courses, conferences and seminars; and
• He is an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management (AFAIM) and has been a member of the Kodak Pro Club, the Melbourne Camera Club and the Canon Professionals Association.

John’s philosophy in relation to Photography is based on providing a high quality product, using natural light where possible, always mixing the formal and the informal - relaxed, fun shots, with a strong emphasis on professional, caring, unobtrusive customer service, at a reasonable price.

John currently lives with his wife in the bayside suburb of Elwood, 8 km's from the
Melbourne CBD in their recently renovated Edwardian home/studio. John has also continued his
other career and is presently the Manager of
Information Technology & Telecommunications for a high profile inner Melbourne City Council and is an Associate Fellow with the Australian Institute of Management.
In addition John is a Human Relations facilitator at the Cairnmillar
Institute. Apart from his love for travelling and photography, John also enjoys a wide range of sports
including regular swimming & squash, plus volleyball and cycling (formerly also involved in
triathlons and surf life saving). He particularly enjoys riding his 1957 BMW R50 motorbike, which he has owned since he was 19,
spending time with friends and family, going to a good movie or restaurant and if there is any time left over reading
or listening to a good book.
